Executive Vice President of Operations
Steve Gilkey joined MasTec from Eversource Energy in 2017 to lead operations for its Houston-based nationwide transmission and substation group of which EC Source Services is a part. Steve and his team direct construction work across multiple subsidiaries to safely build a variety of EHV transmission, distribution, substation, and foundation projects.
Steve’s career includess Vice President of Electric T&D Operations at Eversource Energy, and Director of Distribution Operations for Florida Power & Light Company. Earlier in this career, he held director-level roles in engineering, planning and operations at Kansas City Power & Light Company. Steve began his career as an electrical engineer with Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation also working as supervisor of crews and service centers.
He served on the executive board of directors of the Midwest Energy Association and is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Steve was also Chairman of the Distribution Executive Committee for the Edison Electric Institute.
Executive Vice President
Glen Hartwig is Executive Vice President for EC Source and counts more than 25 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry. Glen’s skills include program management, handling large-scale infrastructure projects, and working with public and private employers on domestic and international projects. Glen’s career includes serving as CFO for industrial services and engineering firms such as Bilfinger TEPSCO and AECOM
Howard Lewczyk has more than 26 years of experience managing engineering, procurement and construction projects at Fortune 500 companies. Howard joined EC Source Services in 2017 as Executive Director of estimating and proposals and two years later promoted to Vice President of Operations. As Vice President of Operations Support, he directs project support services, estimating and proposals, procurement, project controls, and fleet services. His experience includes collaboration with clients on project development and overseeing all aspects of estimating for the engineering, procurement and construction of overhead transmission lines up to 765kV, underground transmission, security infrastructure, and substations
Before joining EC Source, Howard held senior-level project management and estimating roles with Kiewit .
Paul Mackintire is Vice President of Safety and Health in the MasTec Transmission & Substation Group and currently works with EC Source as the leader for safety. Although Paul directs the teams responsible for safety, he also works as an operational leader ensuring the workforce is trained and qualified, so employees and subcontractors believe they will finish their day injury-free.
Paul has more than 30 years in the electric and gas utility industry. He began his career as a meter reader and progressed to a journeyman lineman before accepting leadership roles in safety at National Grid. Paul also led safety and security at NSTAR (now Eversource) where he directed the training organization and safety for all field personnel.
Senior Vice President of Business Development
Steve joined MasTec in 2020 and leads the group’s business development team, fostering relationships with utility clients and pursuing large-scale construction projects and EPC opportunities. His work is also critical for supporting special projects and initiatives that advance the group’s strategic goals within its power delivery business segment.
Before MasTec, Steve directed business development for infrastructure provider Henkels & McCoy. He has more than 25 years of experience in various business development roles working with specialty construction and engineering firms.
Vice President of Operations, Southern Region
Tim Henry is a Vice President of Operations for EC Sources’ Southern Region and focused on managing the firm’s construction processes including estimating, project management, safety, budgeting and forecasting. During his more than 35-year career, he has worked on transmission and distribution infrastructure projects with investor-owned utilities, municipalities, and cooperatives. Tim comes to MasTec from Irby Construction Company and then Quanta Services where he was Vice President of Operations handling T&D projects, financial performance, contract administration and storm response.
He began his career as a journeyman electrician.
Vice President of Operations
Mike leads an EC Sources’ teams that manage large capital projects including EHV transmission, distribution, and substation construction. His operational work includes not only EPC but also managing safety, financials and successfully meeting utility customers’ expectations to retain clients. Mike joined EC Sources Services in 2016 as a Senior Director of Operations responsible for: building project teams; directing oversight of project managers; supporting and mentoring employees; and facilitating project management office (PMO) best practices.
Before EC Source, Mike worked as a senior project manager and estimator for companies including Henkels & McCoy and Harlan Electric. He brings more than 20 years of high-voltage industry experience to EC Source Services.
Vice President of Operations
Tom Tacconelli is a Vice President of Operations for EC Source, bringing more than 20 years of electrical construction experience in overseeing and managing large distribution and transmission projects throughout the Northeastern United States.
Tom’s rare blend of experience includes work as a journeyman lineman, leadership skills forged as a construction manager, and developing business for utility service providers. During his career, Tom and his teams have tackled all-scale projects such as: replacing distribution infrastructure and energized 345kV structures; constructing new transmission lines up to 345kV; building utility assets that traverse international and U.S. rivers
Before joining MasTec’s EC Source, Tom was a Vice President for Danella Companies and I.B. Abel, Inc. Prior to those roles, he oversaw electrical distribution construction projects for Henkels & McCoy.
