APS was seeking the services of a high-quality construction contractor to provide all personnel, supervision, and equipment to construct a 230kV/69kV Transmission Line from the North Gila Substation, located near East County 6th Street and South Avenue8 East to the new Orchard Substation, located near East County 14th Street and South Avenue 5 ½ East, a total distance of approximately 14.95 miles.
EC Source Services, Inc., a MasTec company, was awarded 15 miles of the Gila to Orchard 230kv/69kV. This project was successfully executed despite ongoing challenges regarding terrain conditions, field engineering and Material Procurement issue for owner. The scope was completed in a duration of eight (8) months, with seven (7) simultaneous construction spreads totaling 48 employees at peak production with a total manhour count of 79,500 hours with Zero Incidents.
